LAHORE: The Hope Rehabilitation Society distributed free artificial limbs among 10 disabled persons under the ‘Limbs For All’ project during a ceremony held at the Hope Rehabilitation Centre on Monday. Rotary Club District Governor Shehzad Ahmed was the chief guest at the occasion. Disabled persons got seven artificial legs and three artificial arms, while a five-year-old-boy Haider Ali who was able to walk for the first time after getting artificial legs, was also amongst the recipients on the occasion. Hope Rehabilitation Society President Dr Khalid Niazi said that artificial limbs worth Rs 200,000 were distributed free of cost with the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison. “If philanthropists’ financial support continued, they would keep providing free artificial limbs to all deserving amputees,” he added. The Rotary Club district governor said that free limbs were provided through a special grant from the International Rotary Foundation and this organisation would also assist to continue such projects in the future.

OPPAK expresses deepest sorrow at the sad demise of Mr. Whaeed, student of 8th semester BPOS at PIPOS, after three days of accident. Mr. Waheed has undergone surgery but could not survive. OPPAK mourn the untimely and tragic death of Mr. Waheed . Our prayers and support goes to the family and his fellows.

Peshawar, A short training course on Trans Femoral Prosthesis with Quadrilateral socket has been organized in PIPOS from 12th - 16th July, 2010. It will cover the practical approach to the patient that is assessment, casting, fabrication and fitting processes. Furthermore, there will be more lectures on the applied Biomechanics.

LARKANA (By Nazir Siyal): Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that fixing of the artificial limbs to the suffering patients/disable persons was the real services for ailing humanity, after the rehabilitation those disable will be able to walk and work frequently to perform their proper role in civil society.
